Overview
TB-500 is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring peptide Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4), which is present in virtually all human and animal cells. It is a 43 amino acid peptide that plays a critical role in actin sequestration, cell migration, and angiogenesis.
Mechanism
TB-500's primary mechanism involves binding to actin monomers (G-actin) through its LKKTETQ motif, preventing actin polymerization. This interaction modulates cell motility, differentiation, and survival. Research also suggests it upregulates cell surface receptors and promotes angiogenesis via VEGF pathways.
